The longest-running festival in Pennsylvania is the Three Rivers Film Festival. This Pittsburgh mainstay celebrates independent filmmaking in a variety of genres. Prizes are handed out for the best selections, too. Attend to see some great films you won’t get to watch anywhere else.
Film Festivals in Pittsburgh for Film Lovers
A variety of short films will be screened from three different genres: documentaries, films based on real-life events (“docufiction”), and films that use real-life situations to tell fictional stories. Each of these genres fits in with the overall theme, which explores the relationship between reality and the augmented reality of cinema.
Two main awards will be handed out at the festival: the Jury Award and the Audience Award. Each will be announced at the film screenings.
Films will be screened at the Melwood Screening Room in Pittsburgh.
