Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Pittsburgh This Year

Find the Holiday Spirit with A Very Merry Pittsburgh

For 130 years, Downtown Pittsburgh has been the scene of family Christmases. Whether visiting Kaufmann’s or Macy’s, families viewed gorgeous light displays and decorations while seeing Santa Claus.

You and your family can relive that holiday tradition at the Heinz Center with A Very Merry Pittsburgh, an exhibit with artifacts from more than 80 years of Kaufmann’s/Macy’s traditions.

Classic displays from Pittsburgh’s past are in this exhibit. See delicate, ornate pieces from Kaufmann’s Christmas window displays and classic toys from the original Slinky® to Easy-Bake Ovens.

There is an interactive kids’ area where your children can play with these classic toys too. You can even find some of the original costumes and floats from the Pittsburgh Macy’s holiday parade as well.

Meet Santa Claus

And, of course, don’t forget to say hi to Jolly Saint Nick!

From now through Christmas Eve, you can visit Santa Claus from 11am-2pm – with the original Santa Claus chair from Kaufmann’s.

Take a moment to cherish the holiday blessings with a picture of your child with Santa.

Just a couple miles away from the Senator John Heinz History Center, the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square is a convenient place to stay. Enjoy comfort at the hotel in historic Pittsburgh, where you can rest easy, knowing your favorite holiday traditions are only a few minutes away.
